Sometimes the iDVD project you've created has to deal with something "bad" you've put into your iMovie. I have seen the error you mentioned in the "save as disc image" process and this usually is due to bad permissions so run Disk Utility and "Repair Disk Permissions" on your HD before you do anything else.
